Everything you need to know, whether you're buying a ticket or selling one.
For ticket buyers
Do I need to create an account to buy tickets?
No. Checkout works as a guest by default โ enter your name and email, pay, and you're done. Your order confirmation email includes a link back to your tickets any time, no login required.
How do I get my tickets?
Straight to your inbox as soon as payment is confirmed โ one email per ticket with a unique QR code, plus an order confirmation with a link to view everything in one place.
What do I show at the door?
The QR code from your ticket email (or the linked ticket page) on your phone. Staff scan it to check you in โ it only works once, so it can't be shared or reused after entry.
Can I get a refund?
Refund policies are set by the event organizer and shown on the event page before you buy. If you need a refund, contact the organizer directly โ they can process it from their dashboard.
Is it safe to pay?
Yes โ payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Million Tickets never sees or stores your card details, and an order is only ever confirmed once Stripe verifies the payment on their end.
For organizers
How much does it cost to use Million Tickets?
Nothing upfront. It's free to create an account and publish events โ you only pay $0.80 per ticket + payment processing on tickets you actually sell. Free events stay completely free. See the full breakdown on the pricing page.
How do ticket payments work?
Checkout is powered by Stripe, so buyers can pay with a card in seconds. An order is only ever marked paid once Stripe confirms the payment server-side โ never based on what the browser reports.
What ticket types can I offer?
As many as you need โ General Admission, VIP, Early Bird, Student, or fully custom types. Each one has its own price, quantity, sale window, and per-order limit.
Can I cancel an event?
Yes, from your event's page in the dashboard. Cancelling notifies every ticket holder by email automatically.
How does check-in work at the door?
Open the check-in scanner on any phone from your dashboard and scan tickets with the camera. Already-used or invalid tickets are flagged immediately, and simultaneous scans from multiple devices are handled safely โ no double check-ins.
What can I see about my event's performance?
Live numbers for tickets sold, revenue, remaining capacity, orders, attendance, and check-in rate โ plus a searchable, exportable attendee list.
Trust & security
Where's my data hosted?
On Supabase (Postgres), hosted in Sydney โ close to New Zealand for fast, reliable performance.
Do you store card numbers?
No. All payment details are handled directly by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS certified. Million Tickets never receives or stores raw card data.
What happens if an event I bought tickets for is cancelled?
You'll be emailed automatically as soon as the organizer cancels the event, and the organizer arranges refunds for paid orders from their dashboard.
